Amsterdam Sweeps Watertown

July 1, 2012

The Wizards drop both games in a home-at-home series to the Mohawks

Reported by Gabe Altieri

Amsterdam-Two early errors got Watertown (8-13) in a 3-0 hole and it never recovered as Amsterdam (18-3) won 6-3. Mark Leiter (NJIT) picked up the win (1-0) while Ryan Dunn (Cal Poly Pomona) got the loss (0-3).

Dunn started for the Wizards and gave up  six runs (three earned) in seven innings. He was hurt by those two errors that led to three unearned runs.

Riley Norton (Eastern Oklahoma State) and the Wiz did their best to come back, but the Mohawks always had an answer for their runs. Norton finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Watertown is back at home Sunday at 5:00 PM to face defending league champion Newark. The game is also available via teamline.
